The J. Callwood Scholarship fund was created in honor of our co-founder, Jennifer Callwood. Jennifer was a fierce Warrior and advocate who had a passion for helping others. In addition to her advocacy work and co-founding Sickle Cell Awareness 365, she was very active as a band mom at her son's school. Jennifer took pride in the work that she did whether she wore her band mom hat or advocacy hat. She fought hard until she couldn't anymore. Jennifer transitioned on December 16, 2021.
On July 2, 2022, we hosted our inaugural birthday fundraiser in honor of Jennifer's 40th birthday. Our goal was to raise money to provide at least one young adult with a $2,500 scholarship. We are so appreciative of our sponsors (Apex Museum, Kidstop Daycare and Learning Center, Chiesi, Fulcrum, Beam) and to those who have donated to this worthy cause. Because of you, we were able to raise enough money to provide one $2,500 scholarship for one dedicated student.
This year, we are hosting our second annual J. Callwood fundraiser on Saturday, June 24 at 7 PM EST at Eden' Events at Lithonia Rose Garden. You can purchase tickets here.

*FOR APPLICANTS: *As of March 1, 2023, eligibility requirements have been updated to reflect that applicants who have been impacted by sickle cell in any way are now eligible to apply. (This includes people who live with the disease, and people who have immediate family suck as parents or siblings with the disease. Also note the deadline of *June 2, 2023* at *11:59 pm EST*.
